Full Description
This paper presents a methodology to optimize water quality in water distribution systemsusing Global Optimization Methods. Traditionally, water distribution networks have beenoptimized from the build-up cost perspectives. While attention has been focused onleakage reduction, using operational approaches such as throttling control valves, the water quality has generally been ignored. This study focuses on reducing water age in a distribution system through theoptimal location as well as settings of valves, so that the distribution system can beoptimized for both water quality as well as pressure (and hence leakage). Includes 28 references, table, figures. Product Details
